What do our clients really want from us? with Faye Cornhill

Yay! The latest interview in my Gin and Magic YouTube series championing strong creative women is here! Straight from my home to your eyes + ears, this week featuring the incredible Faye Cornhill!

I've had the good fortune of knowing Faye for some years now, as we have worked together on her SEO for her wedding photography business and now she is a brilliant wedding business coach with a membership club and so.much.good.advice.

On the show we talk about:

  • the popularity of being a coach
  • staying on point with your own message
  • how we can all chill out about the algorithm
  • how I'd miss my Instagram friends
  • self care
  • what our target audience really wants from us (and what they don't care about!)
  • the excuses we all put in our own way, and so much more.

I really wanted to find out more about her story, how she has grown her business and what she does when she's feeling stuck.

Enjoy and please don’t forget to hit like + subscribe if you enjoy the Gin & Magic videos 🙂

Thanks so much Faye, you were fab!

How to make connections and grow your business with Hazel Parsons

Whoop! The latest interview in my Gin and Magic YouTube series championing strong creative women is here! Straight from my home to your eyes + ears, this week featuring the fantastically knowledgeable mermaid hair loving Hazel Parsons!

I was keen to get Hazel on the show because she has always been an absolute champion in the wedding industry. Find out how a chance meeting at the Eden Project many moons ago has led to a strong connection and actually this is pretty much Hazel's motto. She is that woman who connects everyone to everyone else they need to know. So if you don't know her yet, you can change that right now.

She's a wedding co-ordinator and a wedding business consultant, so it's no wonder she's a director of the National Association of Wedding Professionals and co-founder with Jenny Wren of Jenny Wren Events & Planning of the South West Wedmeetups.

I wanted to ask her more about her story, how she has grown her business and what she does when she's feeling stuck.

Enjoy and please don’t forget to hit like + subscribe if you enjoy the Gin & Magic videos 🙂

Thanks so much Hazel, you were fab!

Hazel's official bio:

Hazel is well-known as the wedding industry super-connector in the South West of England. Her eponymous award-winning consultancy provides wedding businesses with business coaching, support, targeted marketing, sales and PR.

Her career began over 15 years ago in hospitality where she soon developed an interest in events and particularly weddings, growing that aspect of the business for the 4 and 5 Ssar hotels she worked for and watching them flourish. For the last 5 years, Hazel has successfully set-up, launched and fine-tuned some of the most sought after venues in the South West. She founded the WedMeetup events in 2013 and works as an associate partner of the National Association of Wedding Professionals in London.

I was delighted to get Jen on the show because she is the very definition of community over competition, and we forged a strong bond over our ability to go off on tangents. Come and find out about smuggling mango chutney through airports and other larks, as we delve into a fun chat.

I wanted to ask her more about her story, how she decided how she wanted to spend her time, making connections, what she thinks it takes to be an entrepreneur and exactly how she manages being a Mum and a business woman!

Enjoy and please don’t forget to hit like + subscribe if you enjoy the Gin & Magic videos 🙂

Figuring it all out with Julie Michaelsen Photographer & Coach

Woop! The next interview in my Gin and Magic YouTube series championing strong creative women is here! Straight from my home to your eyes + ears, this week featuring the lovely Julie Michaelsen, fine art luxury wedding photographer and business coach for introvert photographers.

When Julie, possibly one of the sweetest people I’ve met in the wedding industry and possibly my life, agreed to come on Gin and Magic I knew it was a big deal for her because she is a (her words) 'classic introvert' by nature and video is a lot for even the most confident of sorts! But I am so so grateful she came along and shared her wisdom because I love her openness, her transparency - she is an inspiration even though she may not see herself as one, because she’s doing it all and loving life in such an empowering way that suits her.

In our chat we talk about the power of Pinterest, a very special Les Miserables moment, and learning from her mistakes and of course figuring it all out.

With each interview I feature on Gin & Magic I am reminded of why I started this channel. To find out how others 'do it', how women are making their lives work, how they grow their businesses and how they enjoy life. Chatting to Julie was no exception.

Enjoy and please don’t forget to hit like + subscribe if you enjoy the Gin & Magic videos 🙂

Thanks so much Julie, you were brilliant!

I was delighted to get Magda on the show because she's so open about her experience of burnout, workaholic to managing her time better, and now she's writing a book all about that major taboo MONEY! Magda talked about self care, her podcast, her book and so much more. So grab a cup of something hot and watch along as we delve into a fun chat.

Thanks so much Magda, you were brilliant!

Magdalena's bio

Born and raised in Germany, after completing her Bachelor (BSc) in International Business Economics with a major in marketing at the Universiteit in Maastricht, Netherlands in 2008 and working in the marketing & advertising industry for nearly 7 years, Magdalena relocated to the UK in 2011 in the search for a new challenge; her passion for photography accompanied her entire life, and simply took over in 2013 when she has decided to setup and run her own photography business – Love That Smile Photography.

Capturing the beauty in the moments during a wedding or when a new member of the family arrives brings her pure joy and love for life. With her relaxed documentary approach she has now shot over 100 weddings and won an international wedding photography award. Due to her business background and running her own successful photography business, the University of Essex hired her on a freelance basis as a Student Business Mentor for any students who are interested in starting their own businesses (in any industry).

In 2017, Magdalena decided to add yet another new adventure to her own personal book of life and that is the adventures of THE AUDACIOUS BABE and the accompanying podcast. She simply loves working with other female photographers and helping them reach their own full potentials. Magdalena’s personal mission is to bring the fabulous world of business closer to you – empowering, helping and inspiring you to live more meaningful and incredibly passionate lives, and profit from showing up for your dreams and making them a reality. It’s like having a cheerleading support squad by your side to help you grow a business that you love!
